While in NYC I was all over Instagram stories. Seriously, I probably annoyed people. Ever since Adam started vlogging and I started making some videos I have really found the joy in documenting days.
I had attempted to do Vlogmas 2016, but failed miserably because I just couldn’t find the time with taking care of Greyson. (and taking care of him is my favourite, I don’t say that negatively) I have this problem where I think if something can’t be exactly the way I pictured it originally I just think I can’t do it at all. So, my first attempt at vlogging didn’t work, so to me that means I can’t vlog at all! Not true. I am so sad that I didn’t vlog in New York, I had the most amazing time with one of my besties and we had so many great and hilarious moments. Some of which are captured on Insta-stories, but those fade away after 24 hours! If I had vlogged I could have put together a few great videos to have those memories forever.
I am not trying to make just a complaining blog post here, I guess I am just telling myself hey you’re allowed to vlog just once in awhile! And also, maybe if there are things other moms or people in general think they don’t have time for maybe there is time it just has to be in a different way then you originally thought!
So, let’s look forward to the rest of 2017, making time for things you love in a way that makes sense, and maybe that means some more With Stripes vlogs.

Gossip Girl is one of my all time favourite shows, all for the fashion, New York setting, and Blair Waldorf shenanigans. When Bianka and I were in NYC we stumbled upon quite a few Gossip Girl famous locations, so I thought I’d share those with you!
Location One: Dan Humphrey’s loft. Located right in DUMBO Brooklyn, this sweet view is all over Instagram so it was very cool to see it in person! Also, DUMBO is one of our favourite places we went it’s definitely worth the trip over. We chose to subway it there and then walked the Brooklyn Bridge back to the city!
Location Two: Chuck and Blair’s wedding location. This is in Central Park, it was absolutely stunning, but unfortunately this is the best photo I could get as there was a live music performance going on at the time!
Location Three: The iconic Met Steps. I was so happy we went over to see these, we didn’t actually go to the museum as this was the end of a verrrrrry long day of walking, but it was a beautiful area of the city to be! Also, these cutie girls from Japan came up to us asking to take pictures with us and telling us how they were such big GG fans too! Lol.
Location Four: Chuck Bass’s Empire Hotel! This we came across completely by accident on a long walk back to our hotel on our last night. One of the things I love about New York is that you can walk anywhere and come across something cool or something famous, it’s everywhere!
There are many more GG sites to see, but these are just the few that were in areas we were checking out! Thanks for reading, guys! XOXO

Hello, lovelies! Sorry it’s been a minute, hope you all are well.
I recently went on a girls trip with one of my best friends (@bianka_bt) to New York City! It was super fun and if you want to see a bunch of snaps from it head over to my Instagram: @withstripes. I have a few posts I want to share with you all from our quick trip to the big apple, and today I am going to start with a simple outfit post!
Did you guys know I liked a good striped shirt? Well, if you didn’t already catch on, I have a major love for all things striped! I also have a love for very simple, maybe some would even say tom boyish outfits.
This outfit I wore on one of our NYC days is my style to a tee. The simple long sleeved striped top, the ripped high wasted jeans, converse, cool sunnies, and my dressy coat. Might seem like an odd mix to wear, but it is truly the look I feel most comfortable and most myself in. Any outfit that fits into these guidelines is a winner for me.
This shirt was a double winner for me, stripes and says New York, how perfect! Also fun fact we took these photos on the street that has Carrie Bradshaw’s apartment on it in West Village!
I have a few more NYC related posts coming your way, with a bit more details about our trip, so keep your eyes peeled for that! Thanks for reading as always guys! You’re the best.

As I have mentioned in a previous post I really have taken it on to find all the fun and cool places to go in Edmonton. When you really take the time to get to know a city, it’s amazing the places you’ll find even if it’s somewhere you’ve lived basically your whole life.
Last winter I saw that the Edmonton Ice Castles were open in Hawrelak Park but sadly didn’t make it to them! This year I was like I NEED to go check it out. So, we did! Last Sunday, and they are magical.
I don’t have too much to say as the photos speak for themselves, but it is very cool to walk through this structure completely made from icicles. If you are in Edmonton or surrounding areas I highly highly recommend going. (We went during the day, obviously, but if you choose to go at night they are all lit up as well!)
It’s so much fun to try out something different like this, and it was a beautiful way to spend a Sunday afternoon with friends!
