Just like a lot of ladies you know, brunch is definitely my favourite meal! Well, in general breakfast food is just my favourite of all the foods. So, with that I have tried a lot of brunch places here in Edmonton and I think currently Little Brick is at the top of my list!

The atmosphere is the cutest since the restaurant is actually located in an old brick house in Riverdale (all the heart eyes), they have great coffee, and delicious food! The menu is small, but everything I’ve ever tried off of it has been amazing! My personal go to is the breakfast sandwich (add ham and cheese, duh) it’s so so sooo good and I crave it on the regular. My second choice would be their eggs benny!

(Can we talk about the guys in the background?! My new BFF)

They also have an adorable little shop section if you feel like picking up some goodies to take home while you’re out brunchin! In my opinion you can’t go wrong, and next time you are headed out for a YEG brunch date you should give it a try!

Ever since I knew I was going to be pregnant during fall/winter this year I have had this very specific outfit in my head. A very simple outfit might I add, but you know when you think of an outfit that you think you should be able to find anywhere and then suddenly it’s no where?! Yuuuuup.Β Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

So, I had been on the hunt for the perfect over sized red plaid shirt! I couldn’t find one for the longest time! All the maternity ones would have something added to them that I just did not like, and then other stores just didn’t seem to have one that fit in a flattering way over my growing belly!

Then Costco came to my rescue! Yes, you heard me right! I scored this beauty for $13.00 at Costco and it is EXACTLY what I had in mind.

Don’t you love when you find something in the most unexpected places?! Turns out Costco can have more then just awesome free samples. πŸ˜‰

It’s finally feeling like sweater weather outside, and my heart is singing! One of the things I’ve been most excited about this pregnancy is the fact that I am having a winter baby! Which means I can wear giant cozy sweaters over my bump, and that I won’t be 9 months pregnant in the heat of August (sorry if that’s you, I was there last year!) Right now is always a tricky time of year when it comes to getting dressed because it’s pretty chilly in the mornings but by afternoon you’re boiling! Thanks for that, September. Today though was a consistently chilly day, it was amazing!

I did a little shopping at Zara the other day and picked up a few new fall items that will fit over my growing belly. Including this bright red sweater that I absolutely love! Red is everywhere this year, and I am definitely feeling it.

What styles are you most excited to start rocking this fall?! Pregnant, or not πŸ˜‰

Our baby is one, I cannot believe it! People always warn you that it goes quick and they are not wrong. In ways it feels like this past year went by in the blink of an eye, but at the same time we can’t imagine what life was like without our little guy. And in 3 more months there will be two of them, eeek!

We threw Greyson a dinosaur themed first birthday, because our inspiration for his room at the new house is dinosaur and I’m loving it! (A little too much) That being said though the theme was subtle, I wasn’t really into throwing an over the top event because throwing parties tend to make me a little anxious. Luckily one of my best friends is an invitation creating genius and helped me make the dino invites, and then for the party itself we just had a color palette of green, black and silver to carry the theme through. And dinosours to snack on, duh. I loved planning this little gathering and was so touched by everyone who took the time to come and be a part of it!

Greyson John, you completely changed our world and I wouldn’t have it any other way. You are the sweetest little boy I have ever known, you bring so much joy and happiness to everyone around you. I can’t wait to continue to watch you grow, and to see you in this next phase of becoming a big brother! Love you endlessly, G money.

Welcome to my blog! Or if you use to be a reader of mine, welcome back! I started With Stripes last summer (2016) when I was pregnant with my first, Greyson. I truly loved everything about having a blog, but then my insecurities got the better of me and I ultimately didn’t keep up with. I am not 100% sure what I was so worried about, but I think I was just worried that no one truly cared what I had to say and it was a waste of time. Maybe it is! However, this is a hobby for me, and I need a place to get my creative side out, so I’m back! And honestly, it’s okay if no one reads this or if lots of people read it. That’s the beauty of it.

So, let’s play a little catch up! I am still married to husband Adam who is truly my favourite human on the planet, and the only one who can help me with my anxiety and insecurities! Thanks to him, that’s why I am even writing on here again. He’s the bomb. Greyson is doing awesome, he is almost one now I cannot believe it! We love him so much, and watching him grow into the happy tiny little human he is has been the best experience. Speaking of Grey, in about 3 and a half months he is going to be a big brother! I am pregnant again, and yes we are crazy they are going to be very close together. πŸ˜‰ This time we are expecting a little girl and we couldn’t be more excited!

Adam and I are also deep in the process of a house renovation, we bought a 1980’s home, gutted the whole thing, and are now putting it back together! We are hoping to be moving in at the end of next month- but more on that to come!

If you are here you can expect to find similar posts to what I use to share: mom life, fashion, travel, food and general lifestyle. In a slightly new way! I am not a proffesional writer or photographer, nor will I pretend to be! I am just a very normal girl, hoping to share little bits of my life with you. My favourite people to follow online are just that, normal people, sharing bits of their everyday lives that maybe you can relate with!

That’s all for today! Thank you for reading if you did, I’ve missed you. πŸ™‚
