Hey everyone! Adam and I are both so excited to share our maternity photo’s with you, our favourite photographer Meg (els photography) takes amazing pictures so we were very lucky to have her take these ones of our little (or not so little anymore) bump.
To be honest throughout my pregnancy I have really struggled with my appearance, which is not something I expected at all! Before I always found pregnant women the most adorable, I loved seeing ladies embrace their bumps and I was always so excited to experience it for myself. However, I have found my changing body and the comments people make to me about it really hard to handle some days. I hope this doesn’t come across as too much of a complaint, I just wanted you girls to know that if you have felt this way also, I feel ya. It’s very strange to have people comment on your body at all times, sometimes it feels nice, but sometimes hearing “you’re huge” doesn’t feel the greatest even when you know you’re growing a baby so it’s only natural that your body looks different!
When Meg sent us over these photo’s I was a little nervous if all I was going to see was my body not looking the way I am use to, and that I wouldn’t be able to enjoy these snaps from this amazing time in our lives. I was pleasantly surprised, I absolutely love these images! They make my heart so happy and so excited for this little bean who is about to be joining our family! It was one of the first times I didn’t feel the need to pick apart myself, I just saw myself and my husband for who we are, and what we are growing into. Adam is going to make an amazing father, and I feel truly lucky for all the support and constant positive reminders he has been giving me these past 9 months. I feel like these photo’s represent that feeling, so I am going to remember that whenever I look through them. I also think we could all use a little reminder to not be so hard on ourselves! All body shapes are beautiful, and we would all be much healthier and happier if we could embrace that for ourselves. (and yes Kristina, I am talking to you here…)
Thank you Meg for taking these pictures we will treasure them always, and I hope you guys enjoy taking a peak at them!
